About Anna
My journey into this world of Wellness began back in the mid-1990’s, at that time I was very happily working in a bank with lovely colleagues in what was a really nice environment.
Destiny had a very different plan for me though, and I ferociously resisted embracing Holistic Healthcare.
Interestingly my upbringing hadn’t given this resistance, as my Mom was a mid-wife who was ahead of her time, and both of my parents would travel the horrendous journey on bad 1970’s rural Irish roads, to Fethard with slipped discs to have them healed by a “quack”. My darling Nana was adept at creating a potion to heal everyday ailments, and I clearly recall my dear uncle’s advice when I would fall as a child to say to myself “it doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t hurt” 3 times and I would be alright!
When I returned to work after a personal tragedy at the age of 28, I began to experience un-diagnosed panic attacks, but I learned to manage them myself, without telling anyone. I wasn’t listening to my body, so it was no “accident” when I was a passenger in a car accident that left me with chronic pain for 2 years, which resulted in me having no option but to leave my lovely bank job.
During these years of pain, I met many well-meaning people who shared their recovery stories and offered me contact details for, healers, quacks, therapists etc, yet my internal response each time was “not a chance, unless it’s a medical doctor”.
Then in 1997, my husband was offered a rugby contract in Australia, and my GP there was also trained in Acupuncture, so she insisted on treating me with both Conventional and Complementary Medicine, and it was then my healing journey began.
It was like learning to see for the first time, I suddenly had so many modalities I wanted to explore there simply wasn’t enough time. In those days the ancient wisdom’s could only be found in books or attending courses (often abroad). I devoured over 700 books which I still hold preciously today in my library, I attended over 70 training’s, today it is so much easier to explore and continue to learn, as I can access wonderful new developments as well as the ancient data via You Tube in the comfort of my own home.
My journey is like most people, firstly, healing my own physical, emotional and mental health, and then the natural instinct is to share these wonderful possibilities with as many people as possible.
A passion for teaching and sharing this information, along with a desire to elevate Complementary Healthcare to a professional platform, prompted me in 2010 to create the Holistic Centre of Excellence, which has gained an incredible reputation for standards.
The creation of our Outreach Program allowed our highly trained therapists and teachers to deliver a very substantial contribution to a wide variety of Associations, including NGOS, Schools, Universities, and Hospitals, as our way to “pay it forward” and show our gratitude for the joy of learning these valuable systems.
To learn more about a very interesting recent project that I had the privilege to co-ordinate with the help of some extraordinary talent was in 2018 –www.croiglas.ie– if you would like more information please scroll through my blog posts.
In 2016 it was a great honour to speak at the ICNM conference in Barcelona to a global audience of 500 Naturopathic Doctors, Professors and Therapists.
Speaking with groups, whether it is a one -off presentation, a full program or a training course is where most of my work is these days, and I adore that I get the opportunity to help more people in less time. I still have private clinic days but they book up a few weeks ahead, so please get in touch sooner rather than later if you would like to see me, to avoid delaying your recovery.
In these times of pandemic stress, it is vital that we help people to re-gain their equilibrium. Recent events are proving that we live in extraordinary times indeed, and this is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to re-calibrate to a better quality of life for everyone. It is my honour and pleasure to be of service to assist as many people and organisations as possible, and I am committed to doing all in my power to create a healthier world for all of us to enjoy,
Ps in case you didn’t notice I looooooove my work!
